Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1986

by omitting from sub-section (1) “insult,” and “sections 21 and 22 of”;

by inserting after sub-section (1) the following penalty:

in the case of a natural person—$1,000; or

in the case of a body corporate—$5,000.”;

by omitting from paragraph (2) (g) “section 22” and substituting “section 24c”; and

by omitting “Penalty: $500.” and substituting the following penalty:

in the case of a natural person—$2,500 or imprisonment for 3 months, or both; or

in the case of a body corporate—$10,000.”.
