19A Power to enter places relating to certain warrants and directions

(1)

For the purposes of an inquiry under this Act, the Inspector‑General may, at any reasonable time, enter any place where a person is being:

(a)

questioned or apprehended in relation to a warrant issued under Division 3 of Part III of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979; or

(b)

detained under section 31 or 34D of the Australian Crime Commission Act 2002.

(2)

However, before entering the place, the Inspector‑General must notify the following person (as the case requires):

(a)

the Director‑General of Security;

(b)

the CEO of ACIC.
