International Air Services Commission Act 1992

The International Air Services Commission is established.

The functions of the Commission are:

to make determinations under sections 7 and 8; and

to conduct reviews of those determinations; and

to provide advice to the Minister about any matter referred to the Commission by the Minister concerning international air operations.

To remove any doubt, it is declared that the Commission may, at the same time, consider and decide more than one matter in relation to particular capacity.

In performing its functions, the Commission must:

comply with any applicable policy statements made by the Minister under section 11; and

have regard to Australia’s international obligations concerning the operation of international air services.

The Commission has the power to do everything necessary or convenient to be done for or in connection with the performance of its functions.
