85 Advance payment on account of compensation
The Minister may, on behalf of the Commonwealth, make an advance on account of compensation that may become payable to a person under this Part.
Where the Minister has made an offer of compensation to a person, the Minister shall, on behalf of the Commonwealth, make an advance on account of compensation under this Part.
An advance under subsection (2), when added to advances to the same person in respect of the same compensation under subsection (1), shall be not less than 90% of the amount of the Minister’s offer of compensation.
The mere receipt by a person of an advance on account of compensation does not constitute an acceptance of any offer made by the Minister.
