14 Receipt of information or recommendation from the World Health Organization

(1)

This section applies if the Minister receives:

(a)

a recommendation from the World Health Organization under Part III of the International Health Regulations; or

(b)

information provided by the World Health Organization, or any other State Party, under the International Health Regulations.

(2)

After receiving the recommendation or information, the Minister may:

(a)

inform one or more responsible Commonwealth, State or Territory bodies of the recommendation; or

(b)

give one or more responsible Commonwealth, State or Territory bodies the information.

(3)

The Minister may give to the World Health Organization, or any other State Party, any additional information that is available to the Minister in relation to the recommendation or the information provided by the World Health Organization.

Note:

If the Minister discloses personal information to a State Party, the Minister must also give a notice specifying the purposes for which the information may be used: see subsection 27(1).
