Native Title Act 1993

Subject to section 124, the President may give directions as to any of the following:

the arrangement of the business of the Tribunal;

the persons who are to:

conduct mediation in a particular proceeding; or

provide any assistance under this Act; or

conduct a review under this Act;

the persons who are to constitute the Tribunal for the purposes of a particular inquiry;

the persons who may appear on behalf of the Tribunal under section 86BA;

the person who is to constitute the Tribunal for the purposes of reconsidering a decision of the Registrar not to accept a claim;

the places at which the Tribunal is to sit;

the procedure of the Tribunal generally;

the procedure of the Tribunal at a particular place.

In giving a direction as to the persons who are to constitute the Tribunal for the purposes of a particular inquiry, the President must have regard to the degree of public importance or complexity of the matters to which that inquiry relates.
