210 Liability for damage, etc
If a person is convicted of an offence, or found to have contravened a civil penalty provision, under Division 3, an eligible court may (in addition to imposing a penalty on the person) order the person to pay an amount up to:
the amount of the damage caused by the offence or contravention; or
the cost of repairing, replacing or reinstating the aid to navigation.
If an AMSA aid to navigation is removed, damaged or destroyed by a person, the person is liable to pay to AMSA the cost of repairing, replacing or reinstating the AMSA aid to navigation.
If an AMSA aid to navigation is removed, damaged or destroyed by a vessel, the master and owner of the vessel are jointly and severally liable to pay to AMSA the cost of repairing, replacing or reinstating the AMSA aid to navigation.
