258 Requirement to facilitate boarding of vessels
An inspector may require a person to take reasonable steps to facilitate the boarding of the vessel under paragraph 256(1)(a) or (2)(a) or paragraph 257(1)(a).
A requirement under subsection (1) may be made by any reasonable means.
The requirement is made whether or not the person in charge of the vessel understands or is aware of the requirement.
A person contravenes this subsection if:
a requirement is made of the person under subsection (1); and
the person fails to comply with the requirement.
Strict liability offence
A person commits an offence of strict liability if the person contravenes subsection (4).
Penalty: 30 penalty units.
