Olympic Insignia Protection Act 1987

For the purposes of this Chapter, each of the following expressions is a protected olympic expression:

Olympic;

Olympics;

Olympic Games;

Olympiad;

Olympiads.

For the purposes of this Chapter, an expression so closely resembling a protected olympic expression mentioned in subsection (1) as to be likely to be mistaken, by a reasonable person, for such a protected olympic expression is taken to be a protected olympic expression.

To avoid doubt, for the purposes of this Chapter, the expressions “Olympian” and “Olympians” are taken not to resemble a protected olympic expression mentioned in subsection (1).
