63HA Notice requiring appearance for examination
This Division applies if the Commissioner has reason to believe that a person is capable of giving information or evidence, producing documents or answering questions relevant to compliance by a provider of an electronic service that is or may be an age‑restricted social media platform with section 63D or subsection 63DA(1) or 63DB(1).
The Commissioner may, by written notice given to the person, summon the person to attend before the Commissioner, or a delegate of the Commissioner named in the notice, at a time and place specified in the notice, to do any one or more of the following:
give to the Commissioner the information or evidence;
produce to the Commissioner the documents;
answer the questions.
Without limiting subsection (2), the notice may also require the person to:
make relevant documents available for inspection by the Commissioner or a delegate of the Commissioner; or
permit the Commissioner or the delegate to make copies of, or take extracts from, those documents.
