59 Power to seize forfeited goods

(1)

An inspector may seize goods that are forfeited under section 58.

(2)

Without prejudice to any other method of seizing goods, goods may be seized under subsection (1) by an inspector attaching, or causing to be attached, to the goods, or to the container in which the goods are held, a notice in writing signed by the inspector and:

(a)

identifying the goods;

(b)

stating that the goods have been seized under this subsection; and

(c)

specifying the reason for the seizure.

(3)

An inspector who seizes goods in the manner referred to in subsection (2) shall, as soon as practicable, serve on the owner of the goods or the person who had possession, custody or control of the goods immediately before they were seized a copy of the notice under subsection (2).
