Internal review
153 Internal review
A person affected by a reviewable decision (other than a decision made by the Minister or CEO personally) may apply in writing to the following persons (each a reviewer) for review (the internal review) of the decision:
for a decision specified in items 1 and 11 to 13 of the table in subsection 151(1)—the Minister;
for a decision specified in items 2 to 10 and 14 to 28 of the table in subsection 151(1)—the CEO.
An application for internal review must be made within:
30 days after the day on which the decision first came to the notice of the applicant; or
such further period (if any) as the reviewer allows (either before or after the end of the 30 days).
On receiving an application, the reviewer must review the reviewable decision.
The reviewer may:
make a decision affirming, varying or revoking the reviewable decision; and
if the reviewer revokes the decision, make such other decision (if any) as the reviewer thinks appropriate.
