Safe Work Australia Act 2008

The CEO’s functions are:

to manage the administration of Safe Work Australia; and

to assist Safe Work Australia in the performance of its functions.

The CEO must perform his or her functions in accordance with Safe Work Australia’s corporate plan and operational plan.

Subsection (2) does not apply to the extent that:

performance in accordance with the plans would be inconsistent with a direction of the Minister under section 46; or

performance in accordance with the plans would be inconsistent with the CEO’s performance of functions or exercise of powers under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 in relation to Safe Work Australia; or

the plans relate to the CEO’s performance of functions or exercise of powers under the Public Service Act 1999 in relation to Safe Work Australia.
