Schools Assistance Act 2008

The Minister may, by determination, revoke an approved authority determination.

The Minister must give notice of the revocation to the approved authority concerned (see section 160).

However, the Minister may only revoke an approved authority determination for a non‑systemic school, or for an approved school system, if required or permitted to do so by another provision of this Act.

For the circumstances in which the Minister may revoke approved authority determinations for non‑systemic schools and approved school systems, see section 110 (amalgamation or separation of approved schools), section 121 (revoking approved school determinations), section 136 (non‑systemic schools become systemic schools), section 143 (revoking approved school system determinations) and Subdivision B (change of authorities).

For the purposes of this Act, a body stops being the approved authority of a non‑government body if the Minister revokes the approved authority determination for the non‑government body.
