90 Languages education—national projects
The Minister may approve a project for the purposes of this section if:
the sole or principal object of the project is to foster the learning of languages other than English; and
the project is conducted by a non‑government school or other non‑government body.
The Minister may make a determination authorising payment to a State for a program year of an amount of financial assistance for either or both of the following:
expenditure on a project approved under subsection (1);
expenditure to publicise a project approved under subsection (1) by disseminating information about the project or carrying out other related activities in connection with the project.
Section 91 sets a maximum amount for grants to the States under this Division for a program year.
For the purposes of this section, it does not matter whether the project is conducted within, or outside, or within and outside, the State.
