Student Identifiers Act 2014

Any of the following entities may request the Registrar to verify that an identifier is the student identifier or schools identifier of an individual, or to give the entity the student identifier or schools identifier of an individual:

the individual;

a registered training organisation;

a VET‑related body;

a VET admission body authorised by the individual to make a request under this section;

a registered higher education provider;

a Tertiary Admission Centre authorised by the individual to make a request under this section;

the Secretary of the Education Department;

an APS employee in the Education Department;

a person who performs services for or on behalf of the Commonwealth in connection with the performance of functions, or the exercise of powers, under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 or any instrument made under that Act;

a TEQSA Commissioner;

the Chief Executive Officer of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency;

a member of the staff of TEQSA;

a person who performs services for or on behalf of the Commonwealth in connection with the performance of functions, or the exercise of powers, under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 or any instrument made under that Act;

the TPS Director;

the VSL Tuition Protection Director;

the Higher Education Tuition Protection Director;

an ESOS agency for a provider or registered provider;

a TPS officer;

an authorised officer of the ESOS agency for a registered provider;

if the individual is enrolled in a school:

the approved authority for the school; or

a prescribed public body of the State or Territory in which the school is located;

if the individual registers an alternative schooling arrangement under a law of a State or Territory that provides for the registration of such arrangements—that State or Territory;

an entity prescribed by the regulations.

The request must:

be made in a manner and form approved by the Registrar; and

include any information required by the Registrar.
