179 Period of appointment for Authority members

(1)

An Authority member holds office for the period specified in his or her instrument of appointment. The period must not exceed 4 years.

(2)

The sum of an Authority member’s first appointment period and any period or periods of re‑appointment must not exceed 8 years (not including any periods of acting appointment).

Note:

An Authority member may be reappointed: see section 33AA of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.
