215UB Disclosure for purposes of enforcement or administration of Commonwealth or State laws
This section applies to information obtained in, or in connection with, the performance of the Inspector‑General’s functions or the exercise of the Inspector‑General’s powers.
Disclosure to enforcement bodies
The Inspector‑General may disclose the information to an enforcement body if the Inspector‑General reasonably believes that the disclosure is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, one or more enforcement related activities of the enforcement body.
This subsection constitutes an authorisation for the purposes of the Privacy Act 1988 and other laws (including the common law).
Disclosure to Bureau and ACCC
The Inspector‑General may disclose the information to the Bureau and the ACCC if the Inspector‑General reasonably believes that the disclosure is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, the performance of the functions or the exercise of the powers of the Bureau or the ACCC under this Act.
This subsection constitutes an authorisation for the purposes of the Privacy Act 1988 and other laws (including the common law).
Disclosure to Commonwealth or State agencies
The Inspector‑General may disclose the information to an agency of the Commonwealth or an agency of a State for the purpose of the administration of a law of the Commonwealth or a State that applies to the management of Basin water resources.
This subsection constitutes an authorisation for the purposes of the Privacy Act 1988 and other laws (including the common law).
Disclosure of confidential information
Disclosure of confidential information that is permitted under subsection (2) or (3) is authorised use and disclosure of the information for the purposes of subsection 215U(1).
