5.5 Minister and land owners may enter into biodiversity stewardship agreements
The Minister may enter into an agreement relating to land with all the owners of the land for the purpose of establishing a biodiversity stewardship site (a biodiversity stewardship agreement).
A biodiversity stewardship agreement may designate any eligible land to which the agreement relates to be a biodiversity stewardship site for the purposes of this Act.
Before the Minister enters into a biodiversity stewardship agreement, the Environment Agency Head must consult with—
the Planning Agency Head, or an employee of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure nominated by the Planning Agency Head, and
the Secretary of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, or an employee of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development nominated by the Secretary of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
