9 Saving provision relating to existing Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee established under the new Act is a continuation of, and the same legal entity as, the Scientific Committee established under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 immediately before the repeal of that Act (the former Committee).
A person who held office as a member of the former Committee immediately before that repeal is taken to have been appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee established under the new Act for the remainder of the person’s term of office as a member of the former Committee.
Any such member who was the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson of the former Committee is taken to have been appointed as the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson, respectively, of the Scientific Committee established under the new Act.
