The regulatory authority may cancel an exemption—

if the holder of the exemption fails to comply with a condition of the exemption, or

if satisfied cancellation is justified on safety or security grounds, or

if satisfied the exemption is of no practical effect, or

on other grounds prescribed by the regulations.

Before cancelling an exemption, the regulatory authority must make reasonable efforts to give the holder of the exemption—

reasonable notice of the regulatory authority’s intention to cancel the exemption, and

an opportunity to make submissions to the regulatory authority about the proposed cancellation.

The regulatory authority must make reasonable efforts to give the exemption holder written notice the exemption has been cancelled.
