Major Events Act 2009

A responsible authority for a major event may direct a government agency to exercise in a particular way any of the following functions that the government agency has in a transport area—

any function relating to the provision of transport,

any function relating to the regulation or movement of traffic,

any function relating to the provision, regulation or prohibition of parking,

any function that might impact on any of the functions of a government agency referred to in paragraph (a), (b) or (c).

A government agency is to comply, as far as is reasonably possible, with a direction given to it under this section.
