Road Rules 2014

This rule applies to—

the driver of a public bus at an intersection with B lights showing a white B light who has stopped after the stop line, or nearest or only B lights, at the intersection, or

the driver of a public bus at an intersection with traffic arrows showing a white traffic arrow who is turning in the direction indicated by the arrow and has stopped after the stop line, or nearest or only traffic arrows, at the intersection.

Example.

The driver of a public bus may stop after the stop line at an intersection with B lights showing a white B light, and not proceed through the intersection, because the intersection, or a road beyond the intersection, is blocked by traffic.

Note.

Intersection, stop line, traffic arrows, white B light and white traffic arrow are defined in the Dictionary.

If the B lights or traffic arrows change to yellow or red, or turn off, while the driver is stopped and the driver has not entered the intersection, the driver must not proceed until—

a white B light is showing, or

there is no B light showing, and traffic lights at or near the B lights are showing a green traffic light, or

if the driver is turning at the intersection—a white traffic arrow is showing that indicates the direction in which the driver is turning.

Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.

Note.

If the B lights or traffic arrows change to yellow or red, or turn off, while the driver is stopped and the driver has entered the intersection, the driver must leave the intersection as soon as the driver can do so safely.

Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
