246 Rectification of damage etc
(1)
A roads authority may—
(a)
before or after or instead of prosecuting a person for a contravention of this Act or the regulations, and
(b)
after having given the person reasonable notice of its intention to do so,
take such action as is necessary to rectify the contravention.
(2)
The costs incurred by the roads authority in taking any such action are recoverable from the person, as a debt, in a court of competent jurisdiction.
