Excavation in or immediately adjacent to corridors
2.121 Excavation in or immediately adjacent to corridors
This section applies to development involving the penetration of ground to a depth of at least 3m below ground level (existing) on land that is, or immediately adjacent to, the roads and road projects described in Schedule 2.
Before determining a development application, or an application for modification of a consent, for development to which this section applies, the consent authority must consider—
the Development Near Rail Corridors and Busy Roads – Interim Guideline published in December 2008 by the Department, and
the implications of the ground penetration for the structural integrity of the road or project, and
the cost implications for the road or project of the ground penetration.
