Bioprospecting without permit

In force

(1)

A person must not engage in bioprospecting except in accordance with a permit registered with the CEO.

Maximum penalty: 500 penalty units.

(2)

A person is taken to engage in bioprospecting if there is a reasonable prospect that biological resources taken by the person will be subject to research and development on any genetic resources, or biochemical compounds, comprising or contained in the biological resources.
