For section 24E(2) of the Act, the prescribed date is the date

2 months before the applicant's registration expires.

Example for regulation 40B

If a building practitioner's registration expires on 31 December 2007, the

Practitioners Board may refuse to accept the practitioner's application for renewal if it is made after 31 October 2007.

If that happens, the practitioner may apply for registration under section 23 or 24A of the Act.
