138 Limitations of use of force
(1)
This section applies when a correctional officer is permitted under this Act to use force.
(2)
The use of force by a correctional officer is reasonably necessary only if the correctional officer reasonably believes that:
(a)
the purpose for which the force is used could not reasonably be achieved in another practicable way; and
(b)
the nature and amount of force used is reasonable in the circumstances.
