Electoral Act 2004

(1) The

Commission must give public notice of the application.

(2) However, if the application is made by a political party to which section

152(4) applies, the Commission must not give public notice of the application until the Commission has obtained statements from at least 200 members who are electors stating they are members of the political party.

(3) The notice must state the following:

(a) the political party's name;

(b) the name and address of the person nominated to be the registered officer of the party;

(c) a copy of the application and the party's constitution are available for public inspection;

(d) written objections to the application may be given to the Commission within

14 days after publication of the notice.

(4) The

Commission must make a copy of the application and the party's constitution available for public inspection from the date of the notice until the end of the 14 days mentioned in subsection (3)(d).
