82 Alternative verdicts
This section applies if, on the trial of a person charged with an offence against a provision mentioned in the following Table (the
prosecuted offence), the trier of fact:
is not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt the person committed the prosecuted offence; but
is satisfied beyond reasonable doubt the person committed the offence, or the offence of attempting to commit the offence, mentioned in the Table opposite the prosecuted offence (the
alternative offence).
The trier of fact may find the person not guilty of the prosecuted offence but guilty of the alternative offence.
