87 Authorised officers

(1)

An authorised officer is a person appointed under subsection (2) as an authorised officer.

(2)

The CEO may appoint a public sector employee or other person as an authorised officer.

(3)

However, the CEO may appoint a person as an authorised officer only if satisfied the person has the appropriate qualifications or experience to exercise the powers and perform the functions of an authorised officer.

(4)

An authorised officer has the powers and functions of an authorised officer under this Act as stated in the appointment.
