12 Scope of health care decisions
(1)
A health care decision may be made in relation to health care to be provided:
(a)
in specified circumstances; or
(b)
as a course of health care to be provided over a period of time.
(2)
Subsection (1) does not authorise a health care decision maker to avoid responsibility by delegating a health care decision to someone else.
Example for subsection (2)
A health care decision maker cannot decide to have someone else make the health care decision in the future, but would allow consent to be given to a surgeon to make immediately required decisions during surgery.
