6.05 Personal service on firm or company
Personal service is effected on:
individuals suing or being sued in the name of a firm, the business name of which is registered under the Business Names Act
2007 – by:
leaving a document, addressed to the firm, at the firm's business address with someone who appears to be at least 16 years old and appears to be employed by the firm; or
sending a document by registered post addressed to the firm at the firm's business address; or
individuals suing or being sued in the name of a firm, the business name of which is not registered under the Business Names
Act 2007 – by serving a document in accordance with rule 6.03 on a person who appears to be a partner in the firm or to have the control or management of the business; or
a company within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 –
by serving a document in accordance with section 109X of that Act; or
a registered body within the meaning of the Corporations
Act 2001 – by serving a document in accordance with section 601CX of that Act.
