17 Parliamentary reference of matter for investigation
(1) The
Legislative Assembly or a committee of the Assembly may refer the following matters to the Ombudsman for investigation:
(a) any matter within the Ombudsman's jurisdiction;
(b) any administrative action taken by a public authority that would be within the Ombudsman's jurisdiction under section 16(2)(a) or
(3)
if:
(i) the authority were to agree to the investigation; or
(ii) the
Ombudsman were satisfied there had been unreasonable delay by the authority in relation to the action.
(2) The
Ombudsman must investigate the matter.
