85 Ombudsman to oversee police complaints resolution process and investigation
(1) The
Ombudsman may:
(a) require the Commissioner to:
(i) give information to the Ombudsman about the progress of the police complaints resolution process or investigation of a police complaint;
or
(ii) arrange for the Ombudsman to inspect any document in the possession or under the control of a Professional Standards Command member that is relevant to a police complaint; or
(iii) arrange for the Ombudsman to interview a person about a police complaint; or
(b) discuss a police complaint or any aspect of it with the complainant.
(2) The
Commissioner must ensure a requirement under subsection (1)(a) is complied with without unreasonable delay.
