27X False or misleading information in applications or reports

(1)

A police officer must not, in relation to an application for a covert search warrant or a report, give information to a Supreme

Court Judge the officer knows is false or misleading in a material particular.

Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years.

(2)

This section applies to an application for a special warrant as well as an application for a covert search warrant made in person.

(3)

This section applies whether or not the information given is also verified on oath or by affidavit.
