71 Slackness of trade

(1)

The CEO may, in the circumstances mentioned in subsection (2), approve an employer employing an apprentice or trainee for a period, in a week or month, less than the complete week or month.

(2)

The circumstances are that the CEO is satisfied that the employer is, or is likely to be, temporarily unable to provide sufficient work to keep the apprentice or trainee fully employed during the complete week or month.

(3)

If the CEO approves, under subsection (1), the employment of an apprentice or trainee for a period, in a week or month, less than the complete week or month, the CEO may, by written notice given to the employer, fix the rate of wages payable to the apprentice or trainee for that week or month.
