57 Referral to Supreme Court for sentencing
(1)
Subsection (2) applies if:
(a)
the Youth Justice Court is conducting a preliminary examination in respect of a youth in accordance with section 55(4) or 56;
and
(b)
at any stage of the proceedings the youth indicates that he or she wishes to plead guilty.
(2)
If the Youth Justice Court considers it appropriate, the Court may accept the guilty plea and do either of the following:
(a)
sentence the youth;
(b)
refer the youth to the Supreme Court for sentencing.
