35D Reference to provisions of a law is inclusive
In an Act, a reference to a part of a law (including the Act) is a reference to the following—
(a)
the provision of the law that forms the beginning of the part;
(b)
the provision of the law that forms the end of the part;
(c)
any provision of the law between the beginning and end of the part.
Example
1—A reference to ‘sections 5 to 9’ includes both section 5 and section 9. It is not necessary to refer to ‘sections 5 to 9 (both inclusive)’ to ensure that the reference is given an inclusive interpretation.
Example
2—A reference to ‘sections 260 to 264’ includes a provision such as a part heading between sections 260 and 261.
