Recognition of Australian and New Zealand adoptions

In force

(1)

For the purposes of the laws of Queensland, the adoption of a person in another State under the law of that State, that has not been rescinded under the law of that State, has the same effect as an adoption order made in Queensland under this Act, and has no other effect.

(2)

Subsection (1) applies to an adoption whether it happened before or after the commencement of this Act.

(3)

In this section—

State includes New Zealand.
