False representation about arranging adoption

In force

A person (the first person) who is not performing a function under or relating to this Act must not falsely represent to another person that the first person is arranging or is able to arrange—

(a)

the adoption of a child by the other person; or

(b)

the adoption by someone of a child of the other person.

Maximum penalty—

(a)

for an individual—150 penalty units or 18 months imprisonment; or

(b)

for a corporation—1,000 penalty units.
