316 When thing becomes property of the State or local government
(1)
A thing becomes the property of the State if—
(a)
the chief executive decides the thing is forfeited to the State under section 311; or
(b)
the thing is forfeited to the State under section 313; or
(c)
the owner of the thing and the State agree, in writing, to the transfer of the ownership of the thing to the State.
(2)
A thing becomes the property of a local government if the thing is forfeited to the local government under section 313.
Note—A thing may also become the property of the State or a local government under section 315.
