345 Operation of statutory compensation
Subject to this chapter, a person who suffers loss of or damage to property arising out of a biosecurity response is entitled to compensation (statutory compensation) for the loss or damage to the extent provided for in this chapter.Examples of loss of or damage to property—
• the destruction of a person’s animal by an inspector during a biosecurity emergency
• the partial demolition of a person’s outbuilding by an inspector during a biosecurity emergency
To receive the statutory compensation, the person must apply to the chief executive for the compensation under this chapter.
