85E Appointment and qualifications
The chief executive may appoint a person as an inspector.
However, a person may be appointed as an inspector only if—
the person is—
a public service officer or employee; or
a person prescribed under a regulation; and
the chief executive is satisfied the person is qualified for the appointment because—
the person has the necessary expertise or experience; or
the chief executive considers the person has the ability to quickly acquire the necessary expertise; and
the chief executive is satisfied the person is a suitable person to be an inspector, having regard to—
the person’s character; and
the person’s current financial position and financial background; and
any other matter the chief executive considers relevant to the person’s suitability to be an inspector.
