Civil Partnerships Act 2011

This section applies if—

before the commencement, 2 persons—

gave notice under former section 10 of their intention to enter into a civil partnership; and

made a declaration of civil partnership under former section 11; and

immediately before the commencement, the registrar had not registered the relationship as a civil partnership under former section 12.

As soon as practicable after the commencement, the registrar must register the relationship as a registered relationship under section 9(1)(a) or refuse to register the relationship as a registered relationship under section 9(1)(b).
