Notice of meeting
152 Notice of meeting
At least 21 days notice must be given to members of a co-operative of a meeting at which an active membership resolution is to be proposed.
The notice must, in addition to the other matters required to be stated—
state whether the member is eligible to vote on the resolution; and
state the full text of the proposed resolution; and
contain a copy of section 156.
If the notice to a member states that he or she is not eligible to vote on a resolution, the member may, after endeavouring to settle the matter with the co-operative, apply to the Registrar for a decision as to the member’s eligibility.
The Registrar may decide the matter, on the information available to the Registrar, by direction in writing to the co-operative and the member.
The Registrar’s decision as to eligibility has effect but only if given before the meeting concerned is due to be held.
