Corrective Services Act 2006

This section applies if the chief executive reasonably believes that a prisoner the subject of a parole order—

has failed to comply with the parole order; or

poses a serious and immediate risk of harm to another person; or

poses an unacceptable risk of committing an offence; or

is preparing to leave the State, other than under a written order granting the prisoner leave to travel interstate or overseas; or

poses a risk of carrying out a terrorist act.

The chief executive may, by written notice given to the secretariat, ask the parole board to—

suspend the parole order; and

issue a warrant for the prisoner’s arrest.

The notice must state the grounds on which the request is made.
