231A Duration of chief executive officer’s appointment
(1)
The chief executive officer holds office for the term, not longer than 5 years, stated in the officer’s instrument of appointment.
(2)
A person holding office as the chief executive officer may be reappointed to the office for a further term or terms as long as—
(a)
no term of appointment is longer than 5 years; and
(b)
the person does not hold office for more than 10 years in total.
(3)
Subsection (2)(b) has effect despite the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 25(1)(c).
(4)
Section 228 applies to the appointment of the chief executive officer for a further term under this section.
