Payments for failure to vote

In force

(1)

If the commission sends a person a notice under section 134(1) for an election and the person makes payment to the commission under the subsection, the commissioner must—

(a)

accept the payment; and

(b)

give the person a receipt for the payment; and

(c)

not take any proceeding against the person for failing to vote at the election.

(2)

In this section—proceeding includes serving an infringement notice under the State Penalties Enforcement Act 1999.
