23 Record keeping
This section applies if a person conducting a business or undertaking—
is responsible for ensuring a risk assessment is conducted under section 19; or
prepares a safe work method statement under section 22.
Subject to subsection (3), the person must keep—
a copy of the risk assessment until at least 28 days after the work to which it relates is completed; and
a copy of the safe work method statement until the work to which it relates is completed.
Maximum penalty—
for an individual—121/2 penalty units; or
for a body corporate—60 penalty units.
If a serious electrical incident or dangerous electrical event occurs in connection with the work to which the assessment or statement relates, the person must keep the assessment or statement for at least 2 years after the incident occurs.Maximum penalty—
for an individual—121/2 penalty units; or
for a body corporate—60 penalty units.
The person must ensure that, for the period for which the assessment or statement must be kept under this section, a copy is readily accessible to any worker engaged by the person to carry out electrical work to which the assessment or statement relates.Maximum penalty—36 penalty units.
The person must ensure that, for the period for which the assessment or statement must be kept under this section, a copy is available for inspection under the Act.Maximum penalty—
for an individual—121/2 penalty units; or
for a body corporate—60 penalty units.
